Offering silk gauze in 40, 48, 50, 56, 60, 68, 72, 82, 90, 120 counts.
Don’t be intimidated by fine count of silk gauze. It only takes good tools and your patience to create a masterpiece.
The name gauze is derived from Spanish word “gasa”, which means silk. Silk gauze is thin interlocking canvas made of fine but extraordinarily strong silk threads. The stability of the fabric is increased by the interlocking weave, also known as a leno structure. This weave prevents the threads from shifting, which decreases the risk of tearing, pulling, and fraying of the canvas.
Silk gauze allows to create realistic-looking accessories that are made to scale and depict a lot of details per 1 inch.
Don’t be discouraged by the small scale, tons of work or amount of time you are going to spend on your little project, but remember, your success depends on 4 P’s:
PRACTICE - PERSISTANCE - PATIENCE - PERFECTION
Practice – try to devote at least 1 hour of your time to the needlework daily.
Persistence – do you remember the Ovid’s saying “Gutta cavat lapidem” that means "A drop hollows out the stone"?
Patience - Little strokes fell great oaks and Rome was not build in a day! Keep stitching!
Perfection – What I am trying to say here is that No one is perfect… that’s why pencils have erasers, BUT “When you aim for perfection, you discover it’s a moving target” (George Fisher)
